2nd Annual Blazing Beats Belly Dance Festival
Mark your calendars for Saturday January 24, 2026 for Blazing Beats Belly Dance Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Upward Light Healing and Yoga along with Moonlight
Sirens Tribal bring you a day filled with shopping, workshops, networking with
other dancers, having fun plus an evening show.
The event will be held at Upward Light Healing and Yoga - 128 W.
Pepper Place,
Mesa, AZ 85201
Vending space is 10X10 for $15.00 (setup will start at 8:00 a.m.)
Please bring your own table(s) or rugs, setup will be outside. If
you would like shade or want to keep dry if it rains please bring a tent. With
all the activities inside this year vending will be outside, rain or
shine.
Four workshops this year with Kara Ford, Jasmine
Ryelle, Diosa and Carrie
Konyha.
Below is more information and times of workshops.
This year we will be having an evening show from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30. Enjoy an evening of belly dancing performed by all the workshop instructors, their troupes and special guests. Show tickets are $15 each. Those registering in advance for a workshop before Dec. 15th and would like to perform in the show please submit a performance video. Your video does not need to be what you will perform in the show. Please send a link of your performance to Moonlightsirenstribal@gmail.com for consideration to be in the show. Six spots will be available. We will let you know by the end of the year if you will be in the show along with all the info.

You can reserve your workshops in advance by paying via
PayPal. Day of the festival is cash at the door if there is
still room in the workshops and a vending space.

"Flow & Glow Yoga"
with Kara Ford - 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.
Kara's 45-minute Flow and Glow Yoga class will warm up the body and mind, setting the stage for a vibrant day of belly dancing. Expect flowing sequences and gentle stretches to energize and inspire!

With 20 years of yoga teaching and 30 years of massage and bodywork experience, Kara Ford brings a holistic approach to wellness. As the owner of Upward Light Healing and a belly dancing enthusiast, she combines movement, mindfulness, and joy in her practice.

"Percussion Precision"

with Jasmine Ryelle - 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
This choreography-focused class dives into an upbeat drum solo filled with crisp isolations, loads of layering, and plenty of attitude. Jasmine will guide you through each combo, helping you sharpen your technique and musicality while having a blast. A short section of the piece includes optional floorwork—so bring kneepads if you’ve got them!

About the instructor:
Jasmine is a multi-award-winning belly dancer based in Phoenix, AZ. With over a decade of dance experience, Jasmine has made a name for herself in the dance community, winning both the Professional Raqs Sharqi Solo Star and Drum Solo Star awards at Yalla Raqs the Palace in 2023 as well as the prestigious Belly Dancer USA title in 2024. About the instructor:
Carrie Konyha is a multi-award-winning bellydancer, choreographer, and instructor with nearly 30 years immersed in Middle Eastern dance. Known for her authentic style, artistic expression, and powerful stage presence, Carrie has performed across the U.S. and internationally, including Egypt and Dubai, sharing the stage with world-renowned musicians and dancers.
Coming from a family of musicians, artists, and dancers, Carrie’s passion for movement began in childhood and has blossomed into a lifelong career celebrating the timeless mystique and feminine power of bellydance. Her extensive training spans Egyptian Raqs Sharqi, Turkish and Romani dance, American Tribal Style, folkloric traditions of North Africa, and fusion styles, making her both versatile and deeply rooted in tradition.
Respected as both a captivating performer and an inspiring teacher, Carrie is dedicated to passing on the art of bellydance through workshops, classes, and productions. This January, she brings her expertise and passion to Mesa AZ at the Blazing Beats Bellydance Festival with a dynamic workshop on shimmy layering technique—a hallmark of her dance that blends strength, precision, and soulful expression.
